Actun Tunichil Muknal (Cave of the Crystal Sepulchre), is about an hour and a half from Belize city  notable as a Maya archaeological site that includes skeletons, ceramics, and stoneware.

Located near the Guatemala/Belize borders about an hour and a half from Belize City is Xunantunich. This Maya site was a major ceremonial center during the Classic Period.

An hour from Belize City, and forty five minute boat ride up the New river brings you to one of Belize's largest ceremonial center.
